THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE DATA 01 / ABOUT

The research behind STORMWATCH.

A closer look at the person behind the project—and the intersection of tropical meteorology, uncrewed aircraft, and the observations that help us understand hurricanes.

ABOUT THE CREATOR 001

Studying storms.
Building better ways to see them.

I'm a student at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, majoring in Uncrewed Aircraft Systems and minoring in Meteorology.

My work involves hurricane research and the data gathered by uncrewed aircraft systems (UAS) operating inside tropical systems. That work brings together aviation, atmospheric science, and a fascination with how storms develop and change.

STORMWATCH reflects those interests: a place to follow tropical weather, explore observational data, and put storm information into a clearer context.

RESEARCH FOCUS 002

Inside the storm

Measurements collected within tropical cyclones offer a perspective that satellite images and surface observations alone cannot provide. UAS can help gather atmospheric information in environments where direct observations are difficult.

My interest lies in that intersection—using aircraft and meteorological data to better understand tropical systems, while making the resulting information easier to explore and interpret.

About STORMWATCH
STORMWATCH is an independent storm-monitoring project. It is not an official forecast or warning service. For decisions involving weather safety, refer to the National Hurricane Center and your local weather authorities.
